Swim Lessons are taught by American Red Cross Certified ‘Learn to Swim’ Instructors. We modify the lessons to fit our waterfront and the levels of the campers that come every day. Swim lessons are the only part of our day that the campers must participate in. Our goal is to make swimming fun, so games, competitions and boating skills are incorporated into our swim lessons.
Every camper begins their session at camp with a test to see how well they swim. The lifeguards keep track of who is able to go beyond our rope marker or not. If a camper does not pass the test, they can try it every day until they can. Beyond our rope marker is the floating dock where we teach diving.
Every afternoon the campers go to free-swim, there they practice what they have learned in the morning.
