WHAT AGES DO YOU ACCEPT?

We welcome campers ages 4–14. Throughout the day, campers are sometimes grouped by age for developmentally appropriate activities, and at other times come together as one camp community.

HOW MANY CAMPERS ATTEND YOUR PROGRAM?

We serve a maximum of 65 elementary campers and 15 middle school campers per day. Across the summer, Kingston’s Camp supports approximately 200 campers total.

HOW DO I KNOW THAT MY CHILD IS READY FOR CAMP?

Our camp works best for children who can participate in a group setting, follow simple routines, and take guidance from counselors. Check out our Camper Readiness Checklist for more details. If you’re unsure, we’re happy to talk with you about your child’s needs.

MY CAMPER CANNOT SWIM.  IS THAT AN ISSUE?

Not at all. Many campers begin their journey at Kingston’s Camp without swimming skills. We offer daily swim lessons to help campers build confidence and ability. Our waterfront includes designated shallow and deep areas, and campers must demonstrate swim competency before entering deep water. Similar assessments are used for boating activities to ensure everyone’s safety.

WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY LIKE?

Campers enjoy a mix of outdoor games, arts and crafts, sports, and waterfront activities (swimming, boating, and water safety games). Days also include snack time, lunch, and opportunities for quiet or small-group play. A sample daily schedule is available here.

DO YOU PROVIDE LUNCH OR SNACKS?

No, campers are required to bring their own snacks, lunch, and drinks. Please note no refrigeration is available on site so pack your lunchbox accordingly! Water bottle refill stations are available and accessible throughout the day. Campers who attend extended day programs are encouraged to pack extra snacks to get through the day!

WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD BRING TO CAMP?

Feel free to review our What To Pack list here.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE SAFETY & EMERGENCIES?

Safety is our top priority. All counselors are trained in CPR and first aid, and our waterfront activities are supervised by certified lifeguards. We follow strict group ratios, emergency protocols, and daily safety checks. We are an American Camp Accredited program, a distinction held by only camps that meet hundreds of nationally recognized health, safety, and program standards.  Find a copy of our Emergency & Communication procedures here.

I UNDERSTAND THAT MY CHILD WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THEIR ELECTRONIC DEVICES (INCLUDING CELL PHONES) DURING THE CAMP DAY.  WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO CONTACT THEM, OR NEED TO COMMUNICATE A SCHEDULE CHANGE?

Call us! As a small camp and can quickly connect you to your camper or relay a message to them. All schedule changes must be communicated directly with camp staff and verified for safety reasons.

HOW WILL I BE CONTACTED IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY?

CAMP WIDE:  If an emergency affects the full camp (including changes to pickup or drop-off), families will receive a text message via our emergency system, followed by an email with additional details.

CHILD SPECIFIC:  If your child experiences an illness, injury, behavioral concern, or emergency that cannot wait until pickup, you will be contacted by phone. Minor incidents such as basic first aid will be shared with you at pickup.

KINGSTON'S CAMP IS AN ALL-OUTDOOR SUMMER CAMP.  WHAT HAPPENS DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER?

We have three pavilions available for shelter and often light a campfire to stay warm. Rainy days are often favorites where mud soccer is a popular activity!

In cases of more severe weather (high winds, hail, thunder/lightning), campers may shelter in parked staff vehicles if needed. We ask families not to attempt pickup during unsafe road conditions.

If early dismissal or closure is required, families will be notified via our emergency text system. In rare cases of full-day closure due to weather damage or anticipated conditions, notifications will be sent by 7:00 AM. Refunds are not issued for weather-related closures or absences.

WHAT IS YOUR BEHAVIOR POLICY?

We focus on positive guidance and building a supportive camp community. Campers are expected to follow rules, respect others, and participate safely. If challenges arise, conflict resolution strategies, parent consultation, and staff support will be used as needed to help children navigate challenges.
If a child exhibits behaviors that are significant or persistent and compromise the safety or well-being of themselves or others, the camp director reserves the right to dismiss the child from the program without a refund.

CAN CAMPERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS ATTEND?

We welcome campers who can thrive in a group-based, active environment. Please review our Camper Readiness and Activity Descriptions to see if your child is a good fit for our program. We strive to offer reasonable accommodations when possible and encourage families to contact us before registration to discuss support needs.

WHAT ARE DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP TIMES?

Our main program runs Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, with a 15-minute buffer window (8:45–3:15) to help the process run smoothly.
Extended hours are available for a weekly flat rate (morning, afternoon, or both):
Morning: 7:30–8:45 AM
Afternoon: 3:15–5:30 PM
Please review our Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures here.

HOW DO I REGISTER?

You can register online via our Registration page.

I AM ON THE WAITLIST.  WHAT IS THE LIKELIHOOD I WILL GET A SPOT?

As a small program, we typically maintain a waitlist and cannot exceed capacity due to property limits and staffing ratios. A spot will only open if another camper cancels. If space becomes available, you’ll receive an email with instructions to claim the spot.   Families on a waitlist who do not get a spot will be eligible to register with returning campers the following year. There is no charge to join the waitlist.

DO YOU OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS?

Yes. We offer a three-tiered pricing option that allows families to choose the rate that best reflects their financial circumstances, no application required. This option is available as a coupon during registration. If additional assistance is needed, please contact tarajane@kingstonscamp.com to discuss options.
